Aubrie and daddy were cleaning up toys on Sunday. We were focusing on the wrecked toy room, but had to go upstairs briefly to fetch some things. There, Aidan's cars were strewn about. I returned downstairs, but Aubrie didn't follow me.
For about 15 minutes I continued to clean up until I decided to go see what Aubrie was doing. (When you don't hear from kids for a while, it can mean many things -- although you should certainly take advantage of the peace. Last time I didn't hear from Aidan, we found a small "present" in the laundry room.)
I went upstairs and found, to my delight, Aubrie putting away Aidan's toys. I was so proud of her, taking responsibility and initiative. Our children are beautiful, but they're even MORE beautiful when they do the little, unexpected things.
